I am also a recruiter that recently discovered that Google is giving away free listings to “local” businesses . Those businesses are now allowed by Google Places to place a free listing about their products or services that will appear in local search results in your city or community.
If this is not part of your online recruiting strategy, it should be because most of your competition probably doesn’t know about it.
I have been recruiting for over 12 years and am always looking for new ideas to get my company and jobs in front of the candidates online. Well, I can tell you that this is a great addition to whatever marketing you are currently doing that will give you additional exposure online and in Google!
While going through the recent slow down in our industry, I discovered “Google Places” and decided I wanted to know more about it and how it may help me. I found out that not only was I able to list my business for free but that I was also able to upload pictures, videos, etc. at no additional expense
I have been involved with the traditional SEO (search engine optimization) for several years and personally know how difficult and expensive it is to get a business on the first page of Google. A “Google Places” listing for your local business is by far the best thing since the original yellow pages.
